Frogtown Rodeo.....Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

The Calaveras County Fair has a rich heritage in Rodeo.  The Arena once hosted its own runway. Cowboys flew in from all over the country to participate in the Rodeo as depicted in the 1970's movie "JW Coop".  Photos from the Frogtown Rodeos of yester year are on display in the Naitonal Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.  Famous world champions such as Donny Gay, Bill Ward and Larry Mahan have special ties to Calaveras County.

The  2021 Fair is Back in the Saddle - re-imagined.   We will be hosting the Junior Horse Show, the Saddle Queen competition, Buckaroo and Stampede events.   For more information call the Fair office or email laurie@frogtown.org.
